My name is Jeff Bader and I live in Bozeman, Montana. I am relatively new to Montana, spending most of my life in New Mexico.
I got my first camera when I was 9, a Kodak Instamatic, and was immediately hooked. Soon the Intamatic wasn't enough and my Dad gave me his folding camera from the late 1930's that took 620 film. I started learning about exposure and focus. That was followed by a variety of cheap 35mm cameras until I was thriteen when I got my first SLR, a well worn Canonmatic from the late fifties.
While I was in High School I saved my money and purchased a used Canon AT-1. I began taking pictures for my family's business and volunteering for an agricultural magazine while working with a professional to learn darkroom skills. This led to my love of black and white photography.
For 25 years after college I did very little photography while I worked on my carreer and family. I waited until 2007 to buy my first DSLR, a Pentax K10D. I still shoot Pentax with several film bodies, a K5 and a good selection of Pentax and Sigma glass. All but a couple of images on this site were shot with Pentax equipment.
I hope you enjoy my images and if you want to use or own one of them please contact me.
